hi! I’m Alma Cox, a painter of 25 years and a surface designer. I’m from San Francisco, California and now live in Lisbon, Portugal. My love of cozy room portraits inspired me to turn the motifs into surface pattern designs for products I sell like prints, fabric, greeting cards and calendars. I paint in a Naive art style with whimsy and bold color combinations. I also love to create illustrations that uplift the human spirit!

Two things I believe with all my heart: creativity is a superpower everyone has and art is all about your joy. I teach on Skillshare and I have a YouTube channel where I share my creative journey.

Twenty-five years ago, art found me after I completed an Ironman. I had no idea I had it in me to sit and paint for hours too! I guess it’s true that you never know what you’re capable of until you do it. ;)
